      <title><![CDATA[Conference Announcement]]></title>
      <description><![CDATA[<p>The third Yalta Optimization Conference will take place on August 2-4, 2010 in Yalta, Ukraine. This year the main theme of the conference is "Network Science". This 3 day event will feature up to 30 talks and will provide an excellent forum for exchange of ideas, sharing the latest advances, understanding the challenges and discussing the role optimization will play in the emerging discipline of network science. A special issue of <a href="http://www.springer.com/mathematics/journal/11590">Optimization Letters (OPTL)</a> will be devoted to the conference.</p>
<p><strong>Call for Participation</strong> </p>
<p>Proposals for special sessions, invited speakers and contributed papers and are welcome and may be submitted by email to Sergiy Butenko&nbsp;(butenko@tamu.edu) or Oleg Prokopyev&nbsp;(prokopyev@engr.pitt.edu). Researchers and practitioners working in areas related to theory and applications of optimization in network science are invited to submit abstracts for possible conference presentations. The abstracts should describe the contribution in general terms and should not exceed 1 page (i.e., it should be similar to a journal paper abstract). Accepted abstracts will be printed in the conference program. The speakers will have approximately thirty minutes to present their talk. Please contact one of the organizers for more information. </p>

      <title><![CDATA[Publication]]></title>
      <description><![CDATA[<p>A special issue of <a href="http://www.springer.com/mathematics/journal/11590">Optimization Letters</a> will be edited after the conference. Manuscripts should be prepared in LaTeX. Please use <a href="http://www.yaltaconference.info/files/LaTeX.zip">Springer’s LaTeX macro package</a> and choose the formatting option “smallextended”.
The final submission should include the original source (including all style files and figures) and a PDF version of the compiled output. The paper submission deadline is November 1. The page limit is 10 pages. All papers will go through a regular peer review process.

      <title><![CDATA[Travel Information]]></title>
      <description><![CDATA[<p>The conference will be held in Yalta, a resort in southern Crimea, Ukraine, with the population of about 100 thousand people. The closest airport to Yalta is Simferopol International Airport (SIP). There are flights between Simferopol and Kyiv, Frankfurt, Tel-Aviv, Istanbul, Moscow, Saint Petersburg among others. The distance between Simferopol and Yalta is around 86 km (54 miles), and the journey by taxi will normally take under an hour and will cost $30-$70. The organizers will assist the registered participants with travel arrangements if needed.</p>
<p><strong>Visas </strong></p>
<p>Citizens of the following countries will not need a visa to enter Ukraine for trips lasting up to 90 days: All European Union countries, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, USA, Canada, Japan.
